Which Website Design Option Is Best?

The real question is, which Website Design Option is best for you?

When choosing a design option for your website, there are basically three to choose from. The one that’s right for you depends on your personal taste, your budget, and your website.

1CUSTOM DESIGN: Just The Way You Want It

Most people who want a Custom Website Design choose this option because they really want their website to be unique. They may dislike the idea of having a site that looks similar to lots of others, or they may just prefer to stand out from the crowd.

If that sounds like you, then getting a custom design for your website is a way to guarantee that the layout, the colors, the navigation and every other detail is under your complete control. You can get exactly what you want – but it comes at a price.

This is easily the most expensive option. $$$$+

2THEMES: The Economical Option

Choosing a Theme-Based Website Design (sometimes called a template) is a way to get a professional website design at a budget price. It’s like buying a house floorplan from a catalog instead of getting an architect to design a custom floorplan for you. Because the plan is sold repeatedly, the designer can sell it at a much lower price.

There are literally thousands of themes available, so most people can find one that suits their website and their personality – eventually. Because there are so many available, choosing can be a daunting task.

But if you want to save money, or if you need to get going quickly, it’s the way to go. $

3SEMI–CUSTOM: The Best of Both Worlds?

A Semi-Custom Website Design starts with a theme, but it then gets modified to suit the needs and taste of the buyer.

This gives you almost as much design freedom and flexibility as a custom design, but because you start with a theme, you can save significantly on the cost as compared to a custom design. By deciding how much or how little you modify the theme you started with, you decide how much or little you spend.

For someone who wants a custom design, but may not have the budget, this option can be your answer. $$–$$$

Choosing A Website Company

You’re a small business owner in Michigan and you know you need a website. You don’t have the time, knowledge, or interest to do it yourself.

You’re not a Fortune 500 company, so you can’t afford a cost-is-no-object solution, and you can’t afford to get it wrong.

Defining Goals For Your Website

Almost every customer that calls or walks in our door wants us to improve their search engine rank, to get their site more visitors, more “eyeballs”. Most of them don’t come out and say it, but what they’re really hoping for is more customers.

But more customers isn’t necessarily the only goal you may have for your website, or even the reason you want to update and improve it. » What’s Your Goal?
