QWhat Does MIS Do?
MIS is a Website Design and Consulting Company, which means that we concentrate on websites. In fact, we do just about anything that has to do with a website, including:
- Website Design and Construction
- Web Hosting
- Search Engine Optimization
- Web Marketing and Branding
- Banners, Ads, and Pay-Per-Click
- Usability And Compatibility Consulting
- Email Hosting, Forwarding, And Spam Filtering
QHow Much Will My Website Cost?
That’s a very important (and very common) question. In fact, it’s so important (and so commonly asked) that we decided to dedicate a whole separate page to the answer.
QWhen Will My Website Be Done?
This is actually two separate questions.
The first is: how long will it take MIS to design and construct your website? We work quickly and efficiently once we have everything we need, but we are mostly dependent on customers to provide the content and materials for their site.
So the more important question is: how long will it take you the customer to provide your content for your website? In our experience, we find that we’re waiting on our customers much more often than they are waiting on us.
QWhy Doesn’t My Website Look Right On My Device?
This is basically a consequence of the way that the Internet works.
For websites to be viewable by a large number of people, they have to be compatible with a wide variety of hardware and software combinations. One way that this compatibility is achieved is by relinquishing some control over design and layout from the server site to the viewer side.
Even though this increases the number of people who can enjoy your website, it decreases the consistency of how it looks when viewed. The same web page can look very different when viewed with different browsers or computer systems (monitors, video cards, etc.).
With the growing popularity of portable devices (smart phones and tablets) being used to view websites, there is an additional challenge of making websites compatible with an even larger array of devices. An emerging industry practice called Responsive Design is addressing that problem.
QCan You Provide a Shopping Cart?
In fact, MIS has a number of different solutions if you need to include a shopping cart or e–commerce system on your site. We can integrate several of the more popular “off–the–shelf” shopping cart systems into your site, or if you want something more tailored to your specific business needs, we can customize a standard cart, or even develop a fully custom-written application just for you.
QDo You Have Samples of Your Work?
Certainly. Several examples of our work can be seen in our customer portfolio. You can also contact us if you’d like to see even more.
QHow Can I Contact MIS?
Feel free to use any of the options available on our Contact Page to get in touch with us.
QAre You An Internet Service Provider?
Short answer: no. But this is one of the more common questions we get, so it’s worth a longer answer.
An Internet Service Provider, or ISP for short, provides access to the Internet. In our area, that would be companies like AT&T, Comcast and Charter .
QAre You A Race Track?
That’s Michigan International Speedway, the other MIS.
