Configuring Email settings with Outlook Express 4

1. With Outlook Express open, up at the top, click on Tools and then go down and click on Accounts.
   
2. In the window that pops up, click select the tab called All, click the "Add" button, and select "Mail" as in the picture below.
 
   
3. A "Wizard" will begin to assist you in setting up your new account. In this first screen, enter your real name in the "Display Name" box. Click "Next"
 
   
4. In this next screen, enter your email address. Click "Next".
 
   
5. In this screen, select "POP3" for "My Incoming Mail Server is a ... server". Enter your incoming and outgoing mail server names (provided by MIS), in the appropriate boxes, and click "Next".
 
   
6. In the "Internet Mail Logon" screen, select "Log on Using" and enter your username and password. Make sure "Log on using secure password authentication" is unchecked, and click "Next".
 
   
7. In the "Friendly Name" screen, enter a name for your account and click Next.
 
   
8. Choose your connection type in this screen, and click "Next"
 
   
9. You are finished. Click the "Finish" button to complete setup. If you need to set up more email accounts, just repeat the process starting from step 1 for each email account.
 
   
10. You must now configure outlook to use SMTP Authentication to send email.  To do this, follow the instructions located here.
