Configuring Email with Netscape Communicator 4.7

1. With Netscape open, go up to the top and click on Edit. In the menu, choose Preferences.
   
2. In the screen that comes up, on the left, under Mail & Newsgroups, click on Mail Servers. A window will appear like the one below. Click the "Add" button.
 
   
3. A window will pop up titled "Mail Server Properties". Enter "scully.mintsol.com" in the  "Server Name" box, select "POP3" for "Server Type", and enter your email username into the "User Name" box. Check "Remember password" to avoid having to type in your password each time you send/receive mail. (As per the sample below). Then click "OK".
 
   
5. You will now be back at the first screen. Look down towards the bottom for the Outgoing Mail Server area. In here, make sure you have the "scully.mintsol.com" in the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) box and your User Name is entered correctly. 
 
   
6. You must now configure Netscape to send email using SMTP Authentication.  Do do this, follow the instructions located here.
