Mac OS X Email QuickStart

  1. Double-click the Mail shortcut icon in your Dock on the desktop (it's the icon with a postage stamp and eagle).
     
  2. Click the Mail menu, and select Preferences. A window will appear titled "Mail Preferences".
  3. Under "Check Accounts for new mail", choose "Manually".
  4. Click the Create Account button.
  5. A new window will pop up. Click the Account Information tab.
  6. Click Account Type menu and choose "POP Account". (If you are familiar with IMAP and prefer to use it you can select that instead).
  7. Enter your email address in the Description field.
  8. Enter your email address in the Email Address field.
  9. Enter your name (or whatever you would like to appear in the "From" line of your outgoing mail) in the Full Name field.
  10. Enter "scully.mintsol.com" in the Host Name field.
  11. Enter your email username in the User Name field.
  12. Enter your email password in the Password field.
  13. In the SMTP Host field, enter "scully.mintsol.com"
  14. Click on the Account Options tab.
  15. Click "OK"
  16. Finished!
