When you choose to use SMTP AUTH in Netscape 6.x, 7.x, or Mozilla 1.x you will be prompted for a password twice: once upon login, and an additional time when you send your first message. All subsequent mails should be sent without a prompt.

Select "Mail and Newsgroups" from on of the following:

The Mail and Newsgroups window should appear.

Select "Mail and Newsgroup Account Settings" from the Edit menu. The Mail and Newsgroup Account Settings window should appear.

Click "Outgoing Server (SMTP)."

Click the box labeled "Use name and password" so that a check mark appears.

Enter your email userid in the "User Name" text box, click the radio button labeled "When Available" under the heading "Use Secure Connection (SSL)."

Click "OK" to close the Mail and Newsgroup Account Settings window.

Close the application completely.  Restart the program to complete the changes.
